The Key of I is Red Deer’s newest, hottest, most sing-songest made-up musical improv show to date. Featuring a cast of recklessly brave, or bravely reckless, actors who will get up on stage and make up songs on the spot just for you. If you love shows like Hamilton, Sweeny Todd, or Cats, just know that this will be absolutely nothing like those! Instead, with suggestions from you, our off-off-OFF-Broadway stars will create a brand new musical that has never been seen before, and it never will be seen again. Each show will be lovingly performed in the Key of I: where the I stands for improv. "Ash Mercia writes with a powerful, emotional, anxiety ridden and at times absolutely hilarious voice in her new play Thank You For Coming to My TED Talk. Being a male attending a perhaps slightly weighted female approach, I left at the end of the show feeling multiple emotional hits, from amusement to anger and all the stops in between. She manages to put forward a rational (but at times wild, crazy and totally comedic) examination of the ups and downs of relationships from a very personal point of view. The performance I saw was delivered with a cast of three well tuned actors who engaged in a fast paced show delivered with dynamic dialogue and dazzling choreography."
